Wonderful example of Finnish design in the heart of Indiana.
Beautiful architecture designed by Eero Saarinen - same gamed architect who designed Dulles Airport terminal, TWA terminal at JFK, and the St. Louis arch. Born in Finland in 1910, his father moved the family to the USA when he was 10. Beginning in September 1929, he studied sculpture at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris, France. He then went on to study at the Yale School of Architecture, completing his studies in 1934. So other than the fact that he was born in Finland, it is NOT an example of Finish design. It is uniquely Saarinen design - just like the designs of his furniture. Another example of his work is in Columbus IN at the Miller house.l - less than 1 mile away.
